Misceo 2.0
Location: Main Store
2013 looks to be a good year for capable, inexpensive disc-brake urban bikes. We’ve already featured the Cannondale Bad Boy 9, and here we have another promising specimen from Raleigh.
As you might expect from the price, this bike doesn’t have a lot of bells an whistles. but it doesn’t need a lot of bells and whistles. It has a hydro-formed steel-alloy frame, Shimano components and a perfectly decent set of mechanical disc brakes. It also has plenty of fender clearance, and mounting eyelets for fenders and racks. In fact, Raleigh has done some clever engineering to keep the front fender from interfering with the brakes.
Misceo’s styling is neutral gray, and understated. The design scheme features a subtle map elements, which upon closer inspection turn out to be from a map of Seattle. If you take your Misceo up to the Emerald City, you’ll never be lost.
For the price, Raleigh has put together a good package of durable components, and made a bike that should serve its rider faithfully. Especially if price is a big factor in choosing a bike, we recommend giving Misceo 2.0 a look.
